Technical scope / supplier matching
Tractor disc harrow quote preparation
Translate equipment requirements into a written scope that factories can answer consistently. Terra Source Sourcing is an independent sourcing partner; the manufacturer must confirm the proposed model and its limits.
The specification stays attached to the price
| Buyer requirement | Confirmation requested with the quote |
|---|---|
| Tractor power and traction | Engine power in hp or kW, tractor mass, drive arrangement and stated soil conditions. PTO horsepower is a separate item when an offered attachment actually uses a PTO. |
| Implement interface | Three-point hitch category or drawbar details; pin dimensions, lifting capacity at the relevant position, hydraulic couplers and pressure requirements where fitted. |
| Working assembly | Working width, disc count, blade diameter and thickness, gang spacing, angle adjustment, frame weight and bearing service instructions. |
| Commercial scope | Quantity in units or sets, currency, unit basis, MOQ, packing, spare parts, trade terms and named US delivery destination. |
Keep an alternative blade material or frame arrangement on a distinct line. Request the drawing revision and exact model reference; an attractive headline price cannot resolve a dimensional mismatch.
From an incomplete brief to a comparison file
01 / Clarify the operating envelope
Share crop, field area, residue, moisture and desired preparation sequence. Wet soil can change draft and finishing behavior; we record the uncertainty for the supplier rather than promising field performance from a catalog description.
02 / Request model-specific replies
Factories should return a named configuration, dimensional sheet, parts list and exclusions. Supplier screening starts with identity and product scope; any factory visit, inspection or sample test needs a separate agreed scope and evidence.
03 / Compare landed responsibilities
Separate equipment cost from packing, freight, taxes, customs handling, inspection and service charges. Confirm who arranges unloading and assembly. MOQ, sample cost and lead time are supplier-dependent, and the seasonal arrival target remains a request until agreed in writing.
04 / Record the trade-off
A budget-friendly option may have a simpler adjustment system or smaller parts package; a premium preference can prioritize documentation, finish or support. Neither description is a verified supplier rating. Compare the written scope before accepting either offer.
Use the procurement checklist alongside the inquiry directory. A sample or drawing review can reduce ambiguity, but neither establishes suitability for every field condition.
Request a scope-matched factory quotation
List the configuration that must remain identical across offers, then describe any open choices. Include the intended quantity, US destination and latest acceptable arrival date; optional budget and supplier preferences help frame the comparison.
- Write the required configuration and any permitted alternative.
- Identify order quantity, US destination and seasonal delivery date.
- Optional budget: currency and per-unit or whole-order basis.
