Smart Farming / integration questions

3 point disc harrow planning for a connected farm

Start with the physical implement and the tractor that carries it. Guidance, field records and telemetry can inform purchasing decisions, but a three-point hitch attachment is not automatically a connected or autonomous machine.

Interface before integration

Confirm three-point hitch category, pin geometry, lift capacity and implement mass. Tractor engine power in hp/kW describes one input; PTO horsepower matters only if an actual powered accessory is offered. A passive disc assembly should not be described as PTO driven by default.

⌁

Guidance and field records

Ask whether working-width entry, implement offsets and pass records are managed by the tractor display. State the existing terminal and guidance system. A larger technology package may support record keeping, while a simpler setup avoids recurring service costs; neither proves a better seedbed.

◎

Telemetry as a separate offer

If sensors or remote reporting are proposed, request the measured signal, connection method, data access, subscription basis and offline behavior. Verify compatibility with the named tractor and software version. An illustrative tablet image is not evidence that the quoted implement includes telemetry.

Compare Inquiry Options

A sequence for checking an integration proposal

  1. 01 / Baseline

Document mechanical dimensions, hydraulic services and the current guidance equipment. Photograph labels and connection points for a later review; keep personal or confidential information out of the initial form.

  2. 02 / Defined option

Ask the supplier to isolate additional hardware, installation labor and any licensing charges from the base implement quote. Request operating manuals, service responsibility and available replacement components.

  3. 03 / Acceptance

Agree a demonstration with the actual tractor, working-width setting and representative field conditions. Record whether data can be exported, what happens without signal and which promised functions were observed. Do not treat a brochure feature as an acceptance result.

Questions that prevent an ambiguous upgrade

Can every 3 point disc harrow use my guidance system?

No universal compatibility follows from the product name. Confirm the tractor terminal, implement measurements and any required interface with the equipment provider. Physical clearance and lift capacity remain necessary even when the display accepts a width setting.

Should my budget prioritize sensors or spare parts?

A premium technology preference can prioritize data functions and integration support; a budget-friendly purchase may prioritize replaceable discs and bearings. Compare acquisition, subscriptions, downtime exposure and local service together. These are buyer preferences rather than supplier ratings.

Which documents belong in the comparison?

Request a configuration drawing, operation and parts manuals, the scope of any software access and a written statement of exclusions. Availability, MOQ, sample terms and seasonal delivery need confirmation for the actual order quantity and US destination.

Request a mechanically clear, digitally explicit offer

Describe your tractor, hitch, working width and existing display. Mark digital features as required, optional or excluded, then give the quantity, destination, target arrival and optional budget.

  • Specify product, quantity and US delivery destination.
  • State the seasonal arrival target and required documents.
  • Add an optional budget and supplier preference.

Specify blade diameter, spacing, axle dimensions and bearing references for replacement parts. Explain any PTO horsepower requirement separately; many disc harrows are draft implements. Do not send confidential drawings here.
